Paper free statements

Most bank accounts or other services you use and have a bill from offer paper free services. Its all well and good saving paper but there's companies out there when you apply for credit a lot of them want original statements or bills and wont accept copies.

It can be a right pain to get hold of a company to send you a paper bill or statement and it can take a lot longer than you want it to and some will charge you too. Its all well and good saving paper but if you cant get some sort of credit because you cant provide an original recent document it can be a real headache trying to sort it all out.

That's my rant for today

Scrap Metal

If you got scrap metal dont get anyone to come out to collect it if you want cash. take it to a place that will weigh it in for you as you will get a lot more money for it. Even if you have to do a few trips it pays off.

Microsoft fined for failing to promote a range of web browsers

Microsoft have been fined, (see news article here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-21684329). I think this is a good thing and its long overdue that Microsoft should be promoting at least 3 other browsers that are commonly used these days in my opinion.

They have run the market in many things for decades and its about time they played more fair and browser promotion is just part of what they should be doing. Most computers now are running Microsoft windows so they are making so much money. Its about time they helped others in the industry because at the end of the day Microsoft operating systems are the most common operating systems that support almost any piece of software.

Horse meat and the like

We have seen the horse meat scandal and following this there have been a few other things come out, for example B&M stores pet food containing a lot of lead. I think this is the beginning of a big thing, who knows what they will test next and what will come on the news.

I blame it all on the supplier and consumers, the consumers always want things cheap which is fair enough, the suppliers then sometimes get things through to us cheaply but neglect safety and so on. i can see there being reforms in testing food and other goods, which will probably lead to price rises. +Jay Hailstone Collier +Doug Wardle +Nick Matthews
